In quarantine since March 2020… Jane Tardo’s long awaited “Snake Tube Adventure Racing and more!” finally opens Saturday, February 14th, Noon-9pm.

Tardo’s title piece, “Snake Tube Adventure Racing,” is the world’s first quilted radio-controlled tubecar racetrack. Physically distanced and projected outdoors, this analog virtual reality installation is open to preregistered guests every Saturday, Feb 13-Mar 6, 6 - 9pm, weather permitting.

Jane Tardo is an inventor. Their products weave contemporary commentary into interactive commodities. The products explore dueling realities of the apocalypse. Tardo uses textiles, embroidery, games, robotics, projection, and more to deal in power, intimacy, and ecological collapse: resulting in work that is absurd in relation to the ideas and standards that we live with daily. The products are accompanied by investment opportunities- Limited Edition hats, patches, masks, and keychains are available for purchase.

New Orleans born and based, Jane Tardo earned their MFA in Sculpture from the University of New Orleans in May 2020. Tardo served as a digital resident at Southern Heat Exchange, a production resident at the Caravan Stage Company, and was a grant recipient of Colloqate Design. Tardo has exhibited work locally and nationally. Their work has also appeared in Antigravity Magazine, The Art Newspaper, Art News, and Pelican Bomb.
