Dana Denoux’s "From Beyond” & Karie Cooper’s “Perspective”

We are extremely pleased to announce two concurrent, solo thesis exhibitions in the month of April at the UNO-St. Claude Gallery. Sculptures, video, and painting in “Perspective,” by Karie Cooper, are “a collection of works exploring man’s dynamic and complicated relationship with the natural world.”  Cooper uses a variety of materials to create “real and imagined terrains” that bear real and manufactured traces of human presence on the landscape. In the exhibition “From Beyond,” Dana Denoux states that the paintings and sculptures “explore the inviting and foreboding attributes of the wilderness and how it has shaped many cultures’ superstitions and beliefs.” Photographs in the exhibition “investigate how light transforms the landscape.”

The gallery, located at 2429 St. Claude Ave., will host an opening reception on Saturday, April 8, from 6-9 p.m.  The exhibition will run from April 8 – May 7, 2017. Regular gallery hours are Sat-Sun, 12-5 p.m.
