The Gaelic “mara”, Greek “thalassa”, and Hawaiian “kai”, all words for the sea, reflect the heritage and experiences of artists Rian Kerrane, Anastasia Pelias, and Melissa Borman.
The artists use photography, sculpture, video, and painting to conceptually reference personal relationships to the sea through current reflections on memories. Each artist uniquely focuses on association with location, identify, and the evolving exploration of self.
mara/thalassa/kai: the SEA will be on view through July 31, 2011.
Gallery hours are Saturdays & Sundays from 12-5.
