We are extremely pleased to announce that the UNO-St. Claude Gallery will host “Genius Loci,” a three-person exhibition of photography and video, for PhotoNOLA. In this exhibit, works by Antone Dolezal, Lara Shipley, and Paul Thulin share “interest in the storytelling traditions of the rural woodlands of America.” The artists state, “by weaving traditional photographic sequencing, vernacular imagery, fictional literature and historical record, (the) exhibition constructs a mythical atmosphere of shared imagination, leading the audience through a captivating landscape rooted in the American storytelling tradition.”
The gallery, located at 2429 St. Claude Ave., will hold an opening reception on Saturday, December 12, from 6-9 p.m. Lara Shipley will deliver a talk about the exhibit at 8 p.m. that evening, in the gallery.
